1987-1990 Wrangler YJ 4.2L I6 Super Engine Brackets bolt directly to left (driver-side) uses 7 existing thread bosses. Right (passenger-side) uses four bolts. Designed for original or aftermarket exhaust manifold. All Grade 8 hardware. Made in USA.
This pair of Super Engine Brackets features more attachment points than the original brackets to spread the stresses on engine block and bolts. Left bracket features seven bolts, four more than the original. Right bracket features four bolts, one more than the original. No engine block modification necessary. Double-welded, all-steel construction for extra strength. While designed to prevent sheared bolts and.or broken thread bosses on the block, many professional collision repairs are done with these brackets after the original bracket has sheared bolts or broken a boss or two. This design has saved many engines from the scrap heap.
Brown Dog brackets are made of 1/4" USA steel plate. While others use 3/16" steel, we know the 1/4" USA steel plate is stronger. The parts are carefully laser cut and drilled. Then double-checked against our drawings. Then we double-weld the bracket assembly for even more strength. Next your bracket is triple-checked for fit. After blasting to white, the brackets are finishd and baked in our ovens. This proprietary finish has become the beacon of quality sought by Jeep owners around the world. It's the sign of a quality performance build. We team our Super Brackets with all USA Grade 8 and M10.9 hardware needed for installation. This includes throguh bolts, prevailint-torque locknuts, and washers for securing brackets to motor mounts or motor mount lifts. Finally, it's all carefully wrapped and packaged with a sticker and instruction tips.

Utilizes existing bolt pattern found on 4.2L (inline 6 cylinder) Jeep engines originally sold with 1987-1990 Wrangler YJ. These engines have a mechanical fuel pump, thus only four holes are available for use on the passenger side. Even if your engine has been converted to a fuel injection system, the mechanical fuil pump may still be in place to cover the hole.

- In preparation for installation, we suggest using PB Blaster or similar with a wire spiral brush to clean out the additional engine block thread bosses.
