The Brown Dog has experienced a couple busted stock motor mounts himself, on his own Jeep. This is why we engineered these replacement motor mounts for extreme strength. You'll find these mounts a serious upgrade from most other mounts, too.

High performance design.

We engineered these motor mounts for extreme strength, ease of installation, and long-life featuring replaceable bushings. In fact, we believe you'll find these a serious upgrade, especially when encountering the torque often experienced in off-road conditions (and even on the streets and highways where potholes make it seem like off-road).

Extreme strength.

These Jeep Cherokee XJ motor mounts are all steel and feature double-welded joints to provide the most strength possible. And, just to make sure, we periodically pull a set of mounts off the shelf and put them through our 20-Ton Press Test. We have yet to see a Brown Dog high performance motor mount or motor mount lift with a structural failure ... even those used in the toughest competition events.

Bolts directly to original equipment brackets.

Unlike most other high-performance motor mounts, these do not require trimming or grinding to fit. We've designed the left (driver side) mount to accommodate the lip inside the left engine bracket arms (that interferes with most other high performance motor mounts) found on most XJ. You get the full benefit of bolt-in convenience.

Ultra-Flex Rubber bushings.

The proprietary Ultra-Flex Rubber bushings in this set of Brown Dog motor mounts will absorb a bit more vibration than polyurethane. Prefer our Classic Polyurethane bushings for a sportier feel? We offer all motor mounts and motor mount lifts with either polyurethane or rubber to match your preference. Our Ultra-Flex Rubber bushings are completely interchangeable with the Classic Polyurethane bushings. All you need is a 10-ton press and our B2500-K (polyurethane) or BU2500-K (rubber) kit. Installation Notes

• Mounts slide into original Jeep engine brackets, in the identical position as the stock mounts. No trimming, grinding, or any other modification required.
• Secures engine into original stock position. If your old motor mounts were in bad condition, these mounts will return your engine to its stock position.
• Carefully inspect engine bracket for any excess wear, especially cracks and sheared engine-side bolts. The original brackets weren't designed to handle off-road conditions. If brackets show wear, order SU2919-0 kit. These kits include include both Motor Mounts, both Engine Brackets, and all new Grade 8 mounting hardware including new through bolts. However, unlike this pair of motor mounts, the motor mounts in the kit will not have the press-on retainers. This makes for a stronger, more comfortable all-around upgrade. If, after you have our "K" series mounts, you need brackets, these mounts can be used with our brackets. They are, however, designed for use with the original Jeep brackets. It's always in your best interest to order the brackets and mounts at once and save a few bucks along the way.
• Loosen transmission mount prior to raising engine . Failure to do this will result in excessive vibration after motor mount installation. We recommend replacing transmission mount when replacing motor mounts. However, at a minimum, loosen bolts and carefully inspect for wear. It's difficult, if not impossible, to inspect transmission mount until loosening the nuts holding up the mount. Transmission mounts tend to tear longways.
• Tighten thru-bolts (bolt that goes through bracket arms and motor mount) snug. Do not over-tighten through-bolt lock-nuts. Please remember, lock-nuts are for one-time use only. If removed, they should be replaced, not re-used. Air tools should not be used here.
• These motor mounts will bolt to frame-side brackets in the same location as your original motor mounts. These bolts should be tightened like most others on your Cherokee. Nice and tight.
